RIOS1931 - German Craftsmanship

Since the foundation of our company by watchmaker master craftsman Oswald Riemer in 1931, we are likely the only manufacturer in the world using the traditional Swiss full-bugg procedure. Then and still today this is the only method to ensure the highest level of quality. As a family-run enterprise in our third generation, we still represent the corporate values Oswald Riemer once formulated:

Our venue located in Germany provides warranty for consistently maintained standards in quality. Employees are trained within our manufactury in Augsburg. During vocational adjustments lasting for years, they acquire high skills which are a precondition for the manufacturing of a RIOS1931 watch strap.

The materials processed in the creation of our watch straps are selected with a trained eye and a high level in diligence. We only use the highest grades of leather available. You may be assured to only acquire luxury products of the highest reliabilty, quality and longevity by purchasing a RIOS1931 watch strap.

The leathers we use are treated in the utmost original manner by our tanneries. The process of tanning is performed very slowly so that the leather may grow to a high quality product.

The luxurious feel of our watch straps is obtained using natural oils and waxes during the tanning process.

We produce our goods according to the rules of tradition of the art of strap making; our products are elaborately handmade. The manufacturing of our watch straps is very time consuming.

Careful consideration is given when choosing our materials, which are beneficial to the environment and close to nature, unique goods instead of bulk goods.

RIOS1931 watch straps are goods unobjectionable concerning hygiene and protection of species. We exclusively use coutchouc based glue, nickel-free fastenings made of stainless steel and hypo-allergenic padding leathers. In order to provide a higher level of protection we also apply a special coating to the surfaces, which were developed in collaboration with our tannery.

All leathers follow to regulations concerning formaldehyde and are free of harmful substances like PCP or AZO color, which may cause cancer.

Any and all RIOS watch straps made of reptile leathers bear the label of the IRV (International Reptile Association). This guarantees that the leather in question is in compliance concerning protection of species and was purchased in accordance with the CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora).
