Semi-Rembordé Strap
(approx. 50 production steps)

The upper leather is pulled to the bottom line of the lining leather (not underneath) and is sealed there. The glue is the only thing holding the strap together, the seam is only for decoration. The disadvantages: due to the cured glue, the straps are often very stiff which makes the different layers prone to separate.

Cut Strap
(approx. 70 production steps)

The leather is punched out or cut into the shape of the strap and then glued. Then the open edges are sealed with colour. The disadvantage: when the colour wears off, the different layers along the edge are exposed.

Rembordé Strap
(approx. 140 production steps)

In the production of a rembordé (or full-wrapped) strap, the upper leather is turned around the breathable, natural cotton fleece and glued. Then the folded upper leather is glued to the lining leather as deep as the fibre so that no bacteria can enter. In the end, all components are stitched together. The advantages: The strap is very stable, soft and very durable - like a welted shoe.

Rembordé Strap "Art Manuel"
(approx. 172 production steps)

This labor intensive technique is reserved for our most exclusive straps. An additional layer is placed on top of the strap. Virtually any leather can be used on this layer such as hornback crocodile which would be too stiff for conventional techniques. Then the strap is compressed, the edges are smoothed by using heat, sanded down and then painted five times with edge dye. Loops and buckle flaps are stitched by hand.

As a custom-made product, the full-wrapped strap "Art Manuel" is available with a saddler's seam (hand stitched).
